A view out at the "rock", from the Dockyard

Gibraltar is at the most southern tip of Spain. When we went during the 70's, the border with Spain was closed. Its has since been opened, and you are free to cross it.

From the cable car

I love this photo, looking down and across the bay to Spain in the distance. Just left of the cable car support structure, you can see HMS Fife.

One of the cable cars

First a view from inside, then why not one of the outside ? ! . On the very right of this photo, you can see HMS Fife down in the dockyard.

Our ship, almost from the top of the rock (using a strong zoom lens)

Gibralatar, is a very small place. However it does have that very British "quaintness" about the place. The beaches are on the East side, with the main town to the west. British money, and policemen. Marks and Spencers ..... what more could you want ?

A few of the gang having a break, on a day when we walked up !

Thats me in the yellow "Turkey Joes" yellow T shirt, from Baltimore. Second left is "Snowy"........ but the names of the others escape me...... do you know any of them ?.............. or are any of them you ?

Thanks to Dave McDonald for getting in touch..... the guy pointing at the camera is Keith Hannah

Meeting the locals

Gibraltar is famous for the "rock apes" that live wild on the cliffs.

Come on !........... I said "Smile please"

Just remember to keep your hands in your pockets when you meet them. Otherwise they'll have their hands in "your" pockets, and take what ever you have there !
