Alongside in Freeport

I love this shot of the ship, framed by the tropical palm trees. I remember swimming in the dock near by, and it was like swimming in a Tropical fish tank.

We challenged each other to reach the bottom, and bring up the largest, and most colourful shell.

Me at an open air Market

The island's have a very "quaint" Britishness about them. I particularly remember how clean every where was.

The Blood Transfusion Service visited the ship whilst we were there, looking for volunteers. As I remember.... they were offering "cash" payment....... and so got plenty of people to come forward !

Enjoying the beaches !

It looks rather "bleak" in this photo, but it was actually very hot. There was a fabulous "Steel band" playing on this beach nearby.

There were a few "nasties" in the sea, so we had to wear "pumps" whilst swimming.

Out for the day !

On of the best ways to get about, is to hire mopeds !. Only trouble was, I'd never ridden one before !................ still, I wasn't going to tell any one.

I'm on the red bike, with Terry Fawcett in the middle. Terry's brother, Allan was also a member of the ships crew. Both now work for B.T., and live locally, so we still enjoy a few pints, and a curry together !

A welcome break in the shade

This photo was taken as I remember, close to two pubs. One being called "The Pub", the other was the "Sir Winston Churchill".

I'm in the orange T shirt, and again Terry is in the middle. I cant remember the other lads name......... I think he was from Hastings ?, do you recall his name ?
