Feminism on trial?
The web ring links web pages which explicitly critique, debunk or target feminism as a movement or feminist prejudices, myths or excess.

Are these sites attacking women?
No. Feminism is a movement not an individual. Feminists are people of either sex with certain ideas and attitudes about society. The pages on the ring are by both men and women. If you see a page on the ring attacking women or any other birth group, that page is in breach of the conditions for membership and should be reported to the web ring manager. Thank you.

What's wrong with feminism?
Criticisms of feminism seem to roughly fall into three groups, with a great deal of over-lap.

* Men's rights and sexual equality.
* Skepticism and free thinkers
* Traditional / conservative lifestyle advocates

And of course people who are just generally sick of the whole feminism thing. For details why not go to a random site?

Can I join the ring?
Probably. You need to have a page explicitly about and critical of feminism. You need to know enough about HTML to insert a simple set of links like this one:

Feminism On Trial Join the ring!
[Previous | Next | Random Site | List Sites ]

If you want to fiddle with the HTML and produce a more snappy looking box that's fine.

And you need to agree to these conditions of membership:

1. Feminism The page you link into the web ring should be critical of feminism. It's not good enought that you are personally against feminism. There must be some content. Something critical, constructive, provocative, expressive and/or humorous. If your site contains a lot of other things link to the page on feminism and not your main homepage.

2. Honest Many people criticise feminism for its lies and deceit. Any facts or statistics mentioned in opposing feminism should not only be accurate but honest. Please help keep other members honest too. If you spot a half-truth, please mention it to the web page owner.

3. Cooperation Do try to read through other members' pages and make a point to tell them if you spot any little problems such as faulty links, typos, or browser problems with viewing their pages. One other thing: It's easy to say woman when you meant to say feminist. An accidental slip like that can look very bad.

4.Speciality Not a requirement, but I'd like to encourage people to have their own angle on feminism or their own area of knowledge or expertise on one of the issues.

5.Usual disclaimers As with most web rings your site will not be accepted if it has pornography, foul language or seems to endorse or promote violence, hate or discrimination. The web ring has a rating of suitable for adults and teenagers - you must be 13 to have your site accepted by the WebRing people. If your site contains sensitive areas you will need to have warnings.

6. US 19th amendment The US 19th amendment states that women shall have the vote. Some sites that are critical of feminism also want to repeal the 19th amendment. I am against this, but the reason these sites are not allowed on the ring is that they breach the rule above, not the rule below.

7. All decisions my own I can decide to not accept a web site for any reason, and once accepted to remove a web site for any reason.

8. Ring integrity You must have a set of working links similar to the above on your feminism page (you can have a copy elsewhere too, if you have a page especially for all your rings or links). In other words someone should be able to jump to your site and jump again to the next site fairly easily, and without having to hunt around for the links.

How do I go about joining the ring? You mean I didn't put you off!? Fill out the form below and I will have a look at your site. If it is ok you can add a Feminism On Trial Web Ring box to your site and when you've done that I will add the site to the ring. The site description in the form below appears when all the sites on the ring are listed so you needn't explain that the site is critical of feminism. Mention your name or perhaps your angle or the resources you have. Don't worry; the information you type in can always be changed later on using the WebRing people's management web page.
