HAPPY YOU! This has to be the SHORTEST X-mas Letter Webpage I’ve ever created!

JANUARY, 2007:
Almost a year ago, I began work on what should be my LAST
RESTRAINT-RELATED DEATH legal case!!!
After more than 10 years of fussing with this subject, I’m KRISPY-KRITTERED and especially READY TO
RETIRE from EMS “EXPERT” WORK!
I’ve ALREADY RETIRED from EMS TEACHING! (I did that at the end of 2006.)
SO. Apart from my EMS WEBSITE – which I will always maintain –
as of JANUARY 2008, the ONLY EMS stuff STILL in my life will be my BOOKS.

My EMT Basic book’s 3rd edition was REPRINTED with American Heart Association UPDATES added.

In 2007, BOTH of my National Standards Self-Test EMS textbooks enjoyed NEWLY-PUBLISHED EDITIONS.

An ENTIRELY NEW 5th Edition (ACLS updates and question revisions) of my Paramedic book was published!

To accomplish these two new editions, I enlisted the help of my EMS “HEIR”!!!

James J. Wohlers (“JJ”) – with the invaluable assistance of his wife, Janene – is learning how to (eventually) take over my textbooks. Furthermore; in 2006 I began referring ALL of my EMS TEACHING REQUESTS to JJ – as well as SEVERAL EMS Cases that I didn’t have time to take on. Since accepting that “LAST” restraint-related death case in January of 2007, I’ve been referring ALL of my EMS EXPERT work to JJ! He’s been doing a FABULOUS job with it!

Whathehell am I gonna do for my NEXT CAREER???
Well! Since you asked so NICELY, I’ll tell you!
I’m going to spearhead the publication of a SERIES of TRAVEL BOOKS –
SOME that I’ll be writing – MANY that OTHERS will be writing.
I’ll tell you ALL about this project NEXT YEAR!
(It will be another month or two before my “PROPOSAL” is ready for SUBMISSION!
So, it will be NEXT YEAR before I have any “solid” newz about this project! LOL)

MAY, 2007:

The 2007 Renaissance Faire season began in May. As usual, in MAY, I took my Nebraska Wenches “LUST MUSTER POYNTE” to the James Arthur Vineyard Ren Fest (JAV Pix HERE) AND to the Nebraska Renaissance Faire (NRF Pix HERE). Later in 2007, The Nebraska Wenches were “specially” invited to enhance the INAUGURAL YORK (Nebraska) REN FEST (YFR Pix HERE) with our LUST MUSTER POYNTE, in September.

Apart from the above-mentioned Faires, I only attended ONE OTHER Ren Fest in 2007.
SO! Let’s get ALL of my 2007 REN STUFF out of the way!
In NOVEMBER, Mistress Linda & I drove to Texas to attend the TEXAS Ren Fest’s SCOTTISH WEEKEND!
I haven’t had time to do a “webpage” o’ those pix – YET.

JUNE, 2007:

In 2007, Linda (our resident “Activity Director”) organized a Monthly POT LUCK Dinner GIG:
Each of us took turns HOSTING a Pot Luck dinner on the SECOND SUNDAY of each month;
a dinner where all could simply RELAX, chat, and enjoy great food – with a MINIMUM of “EFFORT!”
EVERY SINGLE ONE of these dinners was absolutely MARVELOUS!

MY only 2007 DINNER HOST event was on the second Sunday in JUNE.
But, because the Miller Fandamily Manse allows me room to seat up to 12 people at a single table
(something none of our OTHER group members have room for), we ALL GATHERED AT ONE TABLE!

It was SLIGHTLY “squished” – but FUNNN!

Also in JUNE: My friend JANET helped me ORGANIZE our GARAGES!

AUGUST, 2007:

HOOOO-RAH!!! WE SOLD the RV and the SATURN!!!

Loading, managing, and DRIVING the 34-FOOT-LONG RV had long-ago become TOO MUCH
for Ray to handle without suffering incredible psychological and PHYSICAL stress.
But, he and Carol sooooo loved the TRAVEL FREEDOM it afforded them,
it was INCREDIBLY difficult to get them to GIVE IT UP!

Thankfully, they finally agreed to sell the sucker this year!

DREW helped enormously, by listing the RV, tow bar, and CAR
on an INTERNET RV SALES SITE – then, MANAGING the SALE!

That way, the OLD SATURN sold WITH the RV – as a PACKAGE DEAL

YA-HOOOO!!!It’s GONE!!!It’s FINALLY GONE!!!

OCTOBER, 2007:

OH! The 2007 HALLOWEEN SPOOKY PORCH was
ABSOLUTELY FANTABULOUS!!!

We had a HUGE CAST of Scary Folkz …
Some TERRIFIC new DECORATION FEATURES (thanx to Linda & Kat) …
AND, 199 kidz visited the 2007 SPOOKY PORCH!

I haven’t found the time to create webpages for it (YET) …
AND my photo-editor program is screwed up right now!

NOVEMBER, 2007:

Long ago, I established a practice of visiting Jodi & Steve (myne baby brother) in
Houston, and attending the Texas Renaissance Festival (TRF), in NOVEMBER
of every-OTHER-year.
Linda accompanied me for the first time during my LAST trip – in November of 2005. So, I was due to visit Houston and attend the TRF again in 2007. But, since my finances had already become so … stretched … due to my transition from one CAREER to another, I was going to CANCEL my 2007 Houston / TRF trip.
WELL. Linda wouldn’t hear of it! She convinced me NOT to cancel my plans, by graciously and generously offering to pay for ALL THE GAS (the “major” expense of this trip), in return for taking her WITH ME to Houston and the TRF again.
Hey! I’m “PROUD” – but I’m not STUPID!So, I accepted!(Thank you AGAIN, Linda!!!

The drive from Lincoln to Steve & Jodi’s Houston home takes 14 to 15 hours. My long-time restraint-asphyxia-legal-case friend, SANDY, lives in Oklahoma City – which is almost exactly HALF-WAY between Lincoln and Houston. Since I wanted to visit her anyway(!), I told Linda that we’d break our drive to Houston into TWO DAYS, by stopping in OKC and staying overnight with Sandy.
Because Linda is such a divinely inspired “ACTIVITY DIRECTOR” by nature (as I’ve previously noted!), she asked if we could visit the Oklahoma City Memorial at the end of our first-day’s drive. When I told SANDY of Linda’s request, she immediately offered to take time off from work and give us a PRIVATE PERSONAL TOUR of the Memorial and the surrounding area!

Even if you don’t have a PERSONAL Tour Director, I HIGHLY recommend visiting the OKC Memorial!
It is an incredibly beautiful and evocative site – something I am terrifically GLAD to have experienced.
AND, if it hadn’t been for LINDA, I’d NEVER have thought to visit the OKC Memorial.
So!!! … I have to AGAIN say, THANK YOU, LINDA!!!

At the time of our trip, Linda was working as an independent contractor for the production company that films The Food Network’s DINERS, DRIVE-INS, and DIVES program. As such, she fields Viewer Email, and researches Viewer TIPS. SO! Linda used our trip to SCOUT some DINERS along the way!

Our first DINER SCOUT gig was when we took Sandy to dinner at the

CATTLEMEN’S CAFE, in the historic Stockyards area of OKC. Then, after enjoying a splendid evening visiting with Sandy, and staying in her comfy guest bedroom, we headed to our next DINER SCOUT gig: The DINER (in Norman, Oklahoma – about 20 min south of OKC), where we enjoyed a FABULOUS breakfast before resuming our travel!

Late that afternoon, we arrived at Steve & Jodi’s home in Houston.
