THE MAKING OF WATERSLIDE TRANSFERS FOR CRAFTS (Painted Surfaces). . .

Decal production by ALPS PRINTERS, LASER PRINTERS, COLOR COPIERS:
 
 

 

• After the design is completed, it is printed on the Glossy Side of the decal paper.
• A Clear covercoat is applied, covering the entire printed design. (We suggest Krylon #1301 Crystal Clear.) This allows the entire decal to be removed from the transfer paper when soaked in water.
• The covercoat should be allowed to dry for 24 hours.
• The design is cutout.
• Place the decal in luke warm water for approximately 2 minutes. (If left too long in the water,  the design will float off and be impossible to use.)
• Check the decal on the paper to see if it is loose.  In some cases it will be necessary to place it back in the water for a short period.
• Place the decal paper (w/decal)  in the location where the design will go and gently slide the paper from the underside to leave the decal in the correct location.
• We suggest using a paper towel and gently pressing downward to remove water and bubbles from the underside of the decal

Note: The above are general instructions.  Each decal kit comes with complete instructions that have color pictures.

SILK SCREENING. The STS Decal paper is also designed for silk screening.

OTHER USES.  This paper is also used in making prinited curcuit boards.
