Your continued support of our O.N.E Lotto is appreciated.
O.N.E. Weekly National Lotto
The O.N.E. weekly lotto is a very important funding source for both the running of our three homes for the homeless and for the running of the branches in their locations throughtout Ireland. Most branches in the company take part in it.
It is the view of the Board of Directors that all branches should participate.
Lotto tickets are available for sale all year round with prize money paid out each week.

.."IF YOU'RE NOT IN....YOU CANNOT WIN"

O.N.E. is grateful for your participation in our company's national lotto. We must continue to support our homes initiative which is a challenging and expensive process.
This goal is possible with the help of volunteers and givers such as you.... We appreciate your support and thank you for helping to pay the bills at our three homes for people who for one reason or another have become less fortunate than the rest of us.
A percentage of the lotto proceeds goes towards the successful running of our branches that participate in the O.N.E.T. Lotto

Nationally we are dedicated to looking after the welfare of ex-service personnel of the Irish Defence Services.
The Minister of Defence and the Military Authorities in Ireland recognize O.N.E.(T.) as the official representatives of such personnel.

At branch level we also encourage social, cultural & sporting activities in order to develop and maintain a spirit of comradeship between retired and ex-members of the services, as well as providing information locally on welfare and other entitlements.

O.N.E. members wear a distinctive uniform of black blazer with branch crest on the left breast, charcoal grey slacks, white shirt, navy O.N.E. crested tie, black shoes and black beret with O.N.E. cap badge.

There are two types of branch crest - plain emboidered cloth or silk and wire. Either crest is acceptable.

Medals awarded during service (including O.N.E. service) are displayed on ceremonial occasions and are pinned over the left breast above the O.N.E. crest. Medals awarded to deceased family members may be worn over the right breast.
O.N.E. awards a service medal after three years with service bars following seven and twelve years service with the company.

Each Branch has an Irish National Flag (Tri-Colour), Branch Flag, which displays the O.N.E. Company Crest and a UN flag, all of which are paraded when a local ceremony takes place.

ONET is often called upon to perform ceremonial duties for fallen comrades at funeral ceremonies and Branches are frequently requested to take part in St. Patrick's Day Parades in various parts of the country.

Óglaigh Náisiúnta na hÉireann Teoranta, (ONET/ONE)
is a limited company without share capital
and has Charitable Status from the Revenue Commissioners.
Voluntary Service is central to our activity,
each of our active members give of themselves free for the betterment of others and ask nothing in return. We try to present ourselves to the public in the best possible way. Our members seek no glory and perhaps deserve respect for and recognition of our endeavors.

We ask members of the public to get involved in our social, cultural & sporting activities which are arranged at branch level around the country in order to develop a spirit of social inclusion between members and the general public.
Within the organization we encourage active involvement through participation in branch activities, including meetings, masses, guards of honour, pallbearer at funerals and parades countrywide. We encourage and try to maintain contact with many other ex-members of the Irish Defence Services.

The Main Objective of O.N.E.T. is to ensure the welfare of ex-service men and women by way of providing accommodation to homeless, elderly or disabled ex-service persons in need of such domestic accommodation or shelter and other assistance that may be required from time to time.

Some ex-members of the Irish Defence Forces having experienced the institutional environment of a military barracks/military life during their adulthood and
after giving forty or more years of honourable service to Ireland may find themselves without a family or an adequate home in which to spend their retirement.

During the late 1980's several ex-service personnel died on the streets of Dublin while
living rough. As a result O.N.E. decided to emphasize its main mission by providing affordable accommodation for needy ex-service personnel,
who for one reason or another have become less fortunate than the rest of us.

[Home 1]
Brú Na bhFiann, our Dublin home and head office, completed in June 2005, is located at Smithfield Market, North King Street. It has forty bedrooms. To date it has catered for more than 500 ex-service personnel on a long or short term stay basis.

[Home 2]
Custume House, Dublin Rd. Athlone, Westmeath, a ten-bed home, became fully operational in 2006.

[Home 3]
Beechwood House, is located in Letterkenny Co. Donegal and houses up to seven people.

These three homes include cooking, dining, recreational & laundry facilities
and each has a house manager.

O.N.E. operates under company law as a registered charity
and relies on the generosity of the public to function.

We reflect with satisfaction on what has been accomplished so far
and of the lives it has helped to transform.
