In the Beginning
The BMC factory was built on a site which was originally Victoria Park racecourse, a 113 acre area only 3 miles from the centre of Sydney.

The BMC story in Australia began during World War 2, when Lord Nuffield who travelled to Australia several times and realised that there was potential for expansion into this market. He had local agents find a suitable site to establish a complete manufacturing industry. This site was Victoria Park.
