DO IT YOURSELF BEAUTY RECIPES

Jellybean presents recipes for wonderful at home beauty treatments. Cheap and easy! :)

Honey Cleansing Scrub

Mix one tablespoon of honey with two tablespoons of finely ground almonds and 1/2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. Rub gently onto face, moving your fingers in circular upwards motions. Rinse off with warm water. This will cleanse facial skin, leaving it fresh and healthy looking. It also pumps up your skin's circulation, which is great for preventing breakouts!

Applicious Facial Toner

In a blender, puree one tablespoon of honey with a peeled, cored apple (chop it into slices before tossing in the blender). Use your fingers to smooth the mixture over your face. Leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse with cool water. The apple in this mask tones and tightens pores, while the honey adds a dose of moisture to protect winter skin.

Shine Up Your Hair Mask

Mash up a pitted avocado with one tablespoon of olive oil and one teaspoon of baking powder. Mix the ingredients until they are well combined, then work the mixture through your hair using your hands. Go and surf the Jellybean site for 15 minutes while you wait for the hair mask to penetrate, then wash out your hair with warm water. The baking powder in this recipe acts as a clarifier to remove product build-up from hair, while the oil and avocado add a dose of protein and moisture for megawatt shine.

Simple Winter Bath Recipe

This is extremely easy, but ultra relaxing. All you have to do is dangle a few camomile tea bags under the faucet as you run the water for a warm bath. Cut one orange into thin slices and allow them to float in the water. The scent of the camomile and the Vitamin C from the orange slices combine to create an intoxicating, destressing aroma. Plus, the chamomile is excellent for your skin!

Ideas
1.) Be more efficient with carbohydrates. Eat bread, rice and pasta up until 2 p.m.—after that, get your carbs through vegetables and fruits. "And pick colorful veggies," says Borden. "There is more nutritional value in color."
2.) Eat four to five meals a day. Visit a trip to a local supplement store to purchase quick, edible protein bars and powders. "The smaller, smarter meals you eat, the faster your metabolism will work to start shedding the weight."
3.)Cardio exercise is your best friend. "Jog, walk or use cardio machines at the gym—throw your heels in a bag and walk to work three times a week."
4.) Develop everyday strength goals. "Start small. Carry groceries, use stairs, do five-minute sets five times a day. You’ll be surprised with the results of little, but consistent, changes in your lifestyle."
5.) Invest in yourself. "Seek the help of a knowledgeable trainer—bring a notebook, ask questions, take notes. Make the most of your time and money."

What's Hot, by Patricia Kalousis-Xibillia
"Right now we’re seeing a lot of looks featuring similar tones on the eyes, cheeks and lips," reports Patricia Kalousis-Xibilia, a make-up artist at The Sarum Room in Unionville, Ontario. "The mood is very romantic this season and women are very in touch with their femininity which has made pink the color of choice."
When picking pink shades, Kalousis-Xibilia suggests steering clear of matte and frost finishes as these tend to highlight fine lines and wrinkles. She recommends sticking to cream-based formulas designed to be used on all areas of the face. For day, create big, rosy cheeks with a slick of mauve, applied just to the apple of the cheek, then keep eyes bare and lips sheer, finished with just a hint of clear gloss. For evening, highlight eyes from lid to brow with a shimmering shell, leave cheeks nude and highlight lips with a rich cranberry hue.

Fragrance

Scent has a lot of power. It can lift your mood, relax you, attract potential suitors and project an entirely different image. Of course, used incorrectly it can make the people around you sneeze, faint and run away. So what can you do to make sure your fragrance is pleasing?

. Above, I mentioned your perfume. The word perfume has actually come to encompass several different forms of fragrance. In order of potency these are perfume (also called parfum), eau de toilette and eau de cologne, although many people consider shower gels, body lotions and dusting powders to be forms of perfume. The general rule is that the more potent fragrances (perfume, eau de toiletter) should be applied with a much lighter hand than their less potent counterparts. Another thing to consider is that dry skin tends to absorb scent, making it smell weaker, while oily skin often renders the fragrance stronger. Finally, scents will smell much stronger in summer than in winter!

Feeling overwhelmed? You've just reached the tip of the iceberg in terms of fragrance information! Another thing we have to look at is fragrance families, or groups of fragrances with similar ingredients and scents. There are four main families:
Floral Scents- Floral scents can be derived from the notes of a single flower or contain the scents of many flowers in a bouquet. Think of roses, lilies and lavender. Some floral fragrances you may know? Chanel #5, Estee Lauder Pleasures and Lancome Poeme Oriental Scents- These invoke that heady feeling of the Orient. Rich and warm, they smell of amber, musk, vanilla and sandalwood. You've probably heard of Guerlain's Shalimar and the same company's Samsara Woody Scents- Lush forests, leaves, grasslands and meadows make up the familiar scent of most woody fragrances; these are often citrusy. Famous woody perfumes are L'Eau d'Issey and Chanel's Cristalle. Fresh Scents- Fresh scents are often the choice of younger girls because the rarely-overpowering notes of grass and water can be worn anywhere. Try wearing Dardoff Cool Water or Ralph by Ralph Lauren
