Alberta No Sanctuary for the Great Bear 500 Grizzlies Left Alberta is a land rich in natural beauty and home to a wide variety of plants, birds and mammals. Tourists come from all over the world to enjoy the majestic beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the National Parks of Banff, Jasper and Waterton. Many come with the hope of seeing one of the two species of bears found in Alberta: the black bear and the grizzly bear. On the way to Banff on the Trans Canada Highway sits a billboard that heralds "Lake Louise: Home of the Grizzly Bear". This gives the visitor the false impression that the area surrounding one of Canada's most visited tourist spots is full of grizzlies. This could not be further from the truth. This page is my part of my personal quest to do what I can to save the grizzly Don't be afraid to get involved and don't think that because you are just one person that you cannot do any thing
