How To Make A Snowglobe

Part I - Cutting of the graphic into an ellipse shape

We are gonna need Paintshop Pro 7 Program in making this snowglobe tutorial. If you don't have the program yet, you can go to www.jasc.com to download their free one month trial program.

Now let us start our tutorial. This is my version of snowglobe making.

Save this angel graphic in your hardisk. We will use this graphic for our snowglobe making. I scanned this in my magazine.

Now open your paintshop pro 7 program. Click file then open and look for the graphic angel.jpg (the graphic you saved like the one above). When you find it double click the graphic.
Then click the preset selection symbol . Check antialias and Create as vector and set the selection to ellipse. For the color (see the right side of the pic) on Styles, fill the first box with any color you like (i used white on mine), on the second box, it should be no fill. Color on Textures --first box=no fill; second box=no fill.

Now click your Image graphic and draw ellipse shape. Don't worry you can resize it to the size you like just copy the size on the picture. If you want to resize just point your cursor to the small square on the sides of the vector shape when you see the mover symbol you can start resizing it. The shape of the ellipse should just look like the one on the picture below.

Click magic wand symbol   Then click the selection from Vector object.

then click selection again and click invert,

then do it again click selection for the third time and click invert.

Then click the graphic angel by pointing your mouse outside the ellipse shape of your graphic. The graphic should look like the one below:

Then after click selection again and click invert

Then click layer then merge then click merge visible like the one below. To remove the white lines on the sides so it will be clean. Just click Selections then click modify then click contract-then set the number of pixels in 2.

Click Edit then copy

then click edit again and click paste as new object.

Now you will have this graphic.
