| Gary Simonsen has been in
senior management and CEO positions with Canadian associations
for over 17 years. Understanding the challenges and context
of association management from the inside out, he brings
a wealth of practical, hands on knowledge to association
consulting. His experience includes strategic planning,
organizational reviews and audits, governance analysis,
member service evaluations, staff recruitment and project
management. Gary has the unique background of having worked
for a large local association, as well as one of Canada's
largest national trade associations. |

He possesses an understanding
of the volunteer/staff dynamic having chaired local and
national volunteer organizations. Over the past 5 years
he has facilitated numerous planning sessions for local
and national associations. Gary holds a B.A and M.A. in
Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo.
He has also delivered and moderated many sessions on topics
ranging from "Associations and Affinity Programs" to "Effective
Board Governance".
