Farndale Women's Institute Murder Mystery.

The Farndale Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society is staging its perennial and over ambitious extravaganza, a ‘Murder Mystery’. The production is fraught with mishaps which begin before the curtain even rises, with scenery falling over and being frantically put back together (incorrectly) by Felicity a mousy young mother desperate to get away from the monotony of family life and Audrey an over-acting alcoholic of advancing years! All this happens (in full view of the audience) whilst Mrs Reece (Chairman) and Thelma (Perennial Leading Lady and Perennial Miss Farndale) are busily welcoming the audience members and sniping at each other as they will continue to do throughout the evening both onstage and off. During the ‘Entertainment’ the audience is subjected to a failed slide show of Mr & Mrs Beasley's holiday snaps from the Isle of Man (in glorious Beasley vision) a fashion parade (courtesy of Mrs Arbuthnot) an under rehearsed song and dance routine and a competition for which one lucky audience member can become the proud owner of a ‘Mastermind’ game (£3.99 from Woolworth’s). The ‘story’ takes place at ‘Check-Mate Manor’ where members of the Bishop family (all played by the enthusiastic women) are being bumped off one by one (apart from Gladys Knight who gets missed out when the ladies skip a page of dialogue). A SUCCESSFUL HISTORY- Stepping Out! Artform's last production - Stepping Out, was a great success, selling out on two nights and being 90% full on the other two nights. Artform at it's best - being different and producing in all genre of theatre. This is what makes Artform unique locally the ability to pull together different types of people that work cohesively as a team in all types of theatre medium from musical to comedy and revues.
