The inside was more dazzling than the outside. Light streamed in through the great domed roof turning to gold as it passed through the thin sheet that formed the great arching roof of the library. Stained glass windows depicting scenes of great woods and beautiful elven kings and queens were placed on every wall. Colored light of every hue poured into the library casting the bright images on the floor in a blown up version of the glass. Color and light were all around, but more amazing then all this were the books. They sat on shelves lining every wall climbing all the way up to the ceiling, far above Cal’s head. Countless more shelves stood in a great maze about the main floor of the building. As Call passed amongst them he found places where large stuffed chairs sat for a person to sit in comfort and read. There were other places where tables has been set for study and then he passed out of the shelves again into a large open square. Cal was now standing in the very center of the great library. High above him rose the center of the great golden dome. Golden light streamed all around him and at the edges great colored pictures were cast upon the floor by four great stained glass windows that were set high up in the ceiling. Cal simply stood there with his eyes closed for a second, feeling the warm light cover his whole body. When he opened his eyes again he found he was looking down at the floor. The whole building had been carpeted in a dark red but here in the center a great circle of white had been set, and in the light it appeared golden. Set within the great circle was a picture of a long wooden staff with two curved swords crossed before it. Flying above these was a giant eagle with outspread wings and a golden crown surrounded them all. It was the royal seal of the first elven kingdom from out of the dark times of the world.
