Many poets use life experiences to influence their writings. By a close study of their works, we can see childhood feelings, religious thoughts, and many other characteristics of that poet. And if we study their life, we can trace some of their ideas or characteristics throughout their works. It works both ways! We will be looking not only at poems, but also at biographies of poets in order to find how a poet may feel about certain topics or ideas.
