MEET THE BAND

PERSONAL BIO

I was born the last son of four boys to Clarence W. and Helen Betty Jean Adams at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago, Illinois on the morning of June 9, 1970. I grew up in a Christian home where both my parents sang in a duet in church. I can remember as a boy, standing in front of the church and watching Pastor Foxworth play his banjo. I often wonder that if he were alive today, would he be proud of me? I've been singing in church since the age of six and I thank the Lord that singing is a talent that comes very natural to me. My entire family is very musically gifted, and most sing and play one or more instruments as well. At the age of nine, my father began teaching me to play the guitar which opened up a whole new world to me. By the age of fifteen, I had learned to play six different instruments, all of which I played in church. I am now up to nine different instruments including Lead Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle, Bass Guitar, Drums (although somewhat limited), Acoustic Guitar, Dulcimer and Piano, which is my main instrument.

Music has afforded me the opportunity to see many places and meet many new faces. I traveled with a band called ONE WAY RIDER throughout the East coast and was able to meet many talented musicians such as RONNIE McDOWELL, DARREN NORWOOD< and RICKY LYNN GREGG. I also met the most important person in my life, my beautiful wife Joyce, through playing music. We first met in church when I was twelve and she was eight. She would come up to me and request the song "His Tender Feet." I was very shy, but I always played the song for her. Fifteen years later she came to one of my shows and the sparks just flew. We've been together ever since and are now happily married with three wonderful children. Music has been very good to me and I am truly blessed.

Throughout my career I have strived to play in the best bands around and I feel that HASTY STREET fits the bill. I've never been happier than with these guys because they make it feel like family, not just bandmates or friends. They are completely dedicated to their craft and since being with them on and off for ten years, I think I can call this 'home.'

HEROES & INFLUENCES

The biggest influence in my life has most definately been my father. If it were not for his patience and understanding I might not have become the musician nor the man I am today.

Many of my musical influences come from the world of Gospel music such as THE SINGING COOKS, THE INSPIRATIONS< THE HAPPY GOODMAN FAMILY, JOE ISAACS AND THE SACRED BLUEGRASS, THE BLACKWOOD BROTHERS, JIMMY SWAGGART and JAMES BLACKWOOD. I also have great respect and admiration for artists such as ALABAMA, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, POISON, ERIC CLAPTON and the incredibly talented HANK WILLIAMS, JR. I have always been impressed with his ability to play numerous instruments which is partly where my inspiration came from.
