February '00: The original band is formed. At this point there was no real name, and there were just three members; Thom Foote on guitar, Rob Smith on drums and Kate Barker playing bass.
March '00: The band takes a slight down note as Kate leaves. With only two members, Thom and Rob decide to put an end to the band until they can find a few more musicians.
April '00: Only a month goes by before Budzy and Gill join the band, with Budzy on 2nd guitar, and Gill singing and providing some keyboard work. Gill starts writing lyrics and helping Thom out with the music.
February '01: All is quiet and the band work on songs until Andy Teague joins as Hypochondria's long awaited bassist. Unfortunately in the same month, Rob leaves the band, and this is when your loveable webmaster, Cris Taylor steps in as the new Hypochondria drummer.
May '01: Andy's busy schedule keeps him from rehearsing quite as often as everyone would like and it's agreed he will leave the band.
August '01: Gill packs up her things and flies off to uni, everyone wishes her good luck... But we're all sad to see her go. Around the same time, Budzy joins his cousin in successful local band 'The Magnificent', but still stays on as a member of Hypochondria.
October '01: With no lead singer, the remaining members of the band join Yeovil College's Rock Workshop, to carry on Hypochondria as a college/university project. Helen joins as the much-needed bassist, while Bob Masters takes on singing duties.
November '01: Unfortunately, after just two months back at college, things start to get too much for Bob. So it is decided that it would be in the best interests of both Bob and the band if he was to leave. That leaves Thom and Budzy currently carrying out the role of vocalist.
Hypochondria is a band that has always had its ups and downs, but always seems to survive. Members have come and gone but there's never been a lack of people to replace them. Hypochondria has endured, and matured over time, slowly evolving into what it is today.
Currently there are four of us. See the member section if you wanna know who we are... Which of course you do! We're all from Yeovil and at Yeovil College doing various college and university courses. The History section gives a low down on how the band has progressed in its little lifespan, and tells of members past and present. The picture gallery *will* contain pictures, surprisingly enough, at some point. Lyrics are pretty self explanatory, and the links will hold some of our recommended sites... Enjoy...
