Chapter 19

“Well, uh, me and Sara are well, soon-to-be-parents.” Everyone started clapping. Good thing no one was in there except backstreeters, us girls, and the backstreet staff. Everyone kept coming up to us saying like, “Congratulations,” and “I’m so happy for you two. You look so cute together.” Honestly, I liked the attention. We went on with our bowling game. At the 5th frame, I, of course, was behind everyone else with a big, ole 57. I was proud of that big thing. That’s better than I do with bumpers! Meg had not much better, a 68. You could tell Nick and Brian had been bowling more than once. Brian was getting fustrated because Nick was always in the lead. Brian had a 102, Nick a 112. The game continued. At the end of the game, I got 3rd! I was so happy! I beat Meg by 2 points. Nick and Brian of couse were the winners. Our second game was more the battle of the sexes. The girls all lost and guys won. We were determined to make our scores higher than their’s, even if it meant running down the lane and pushing them down! Of couse, that didn’t work. I got 8th! Brian got 2nd, because Kevin won by 5. “Hey you guys,” said Kevin. “How bout pizza. My treat for the losers!” “Sounds good,” I said. I was starving. Those cravings were starting to kick in already. ‘Oh great,’ I thought. We headed to the nearest Pizza Hut. It was early enough only the old people were there. After our pizza fiesta, we headed back to the hotel. “Who wants to go swimming?” asked Nick. “Not I, said the fox,” I said. Me, swim, in a bathing suit, even though I wasn’t showing yet, hopefully not for a while either, I don’t think so. “I think I’ll go sleep now.” “I’ll go with you, babe,” said Brian. “See you guys later, I’ve gotta pay back, by drowning him, Nick from when he tackled me on the floor!” said Meg. Brian and I headed to the elevator, and into our room. “Sara,” he said. “Yeah, Bri?” “Are, well, are you gonna be ok. You know, on tour, while being pregnant?” “Everything’s gonna be fine, remember. Don’t worry so much. I haven’t seen you smile since, well, nevermind.” “Since when?” “Since, you talked to your mom. What was that all about anyways?” “Nothing, she’s happy.” “Yeah she’s not.” I could see right through that lie. “Your right. Hey! Have you told your mom yet?” “No, I don’t think I’m gonna either.” “Your gonna keep her grandchild a secret from her?” “Yeah, why not?” “Well, it seems wrong.” “I’ll tell her sooner or later.” Or never i thought. That was the first time I had lied to Brian. I felt so bad. So I added, “Maybe.” “You will.” “Ok.” I laid down in his arms. He cuddled me and rocked me like a baby. I felt so safe in those arms of his. I felt secure. I wanted to stay like that forever. Then there was a knock at the door. “I’ll get it,” he said. He walked toward the door, opened it and found Nick in his swimming trunks. “Are you guys sure you don’t wanna come?” he asked. “We’re sure.” “Your gonna miss the party! See ya then.” “See ya,” we both said. He left.
