CROTCHPUNCH OFFICIAL SITE

Vinny Crotchpunch sez;

i am here to say that Crotchpunch & the L.B.C. is coming correct for all you non believers out there who think that the scene is all yours. we are about fun and hardcore unity, for all, straightedge and non. this what Crotchpunch & LBC are about....better believe it

Crotchpunch began back in 1981 at the height of the original hardcore movement. though bands such as minor threat, agnostic front, the misfits, and others were at the forefront, Crotchpunch was fine tuning there sound. The original line up of Vinny Crotchpunch, Big Bobby Hardcore, Deadboy, Nicky Teen, and Joey Calzone started writing songs in the summer of 81. they released the first 7" entitled "Hit em where it counts" containing the original three songs.

In the fall of 82 things got complicated......first off Big Bobby Hardcore was arrested for stealing a SEPTA Bus and crashing it into the Delaware River. then that same fall Joey Calzone mysteriously vanished in a circle pit at a Bad Brains show in NYC. This left Vinny, Nicky Teen, and Deadboy to pick up the pieces. it looked like the end of Crotchpunch as problems continued. in spring of 83, Nicky Teen became straight edge and changed his name to Nicky Teenisbad and preceded to beat up his bandmates for smoking and ruined quite a few shows. He eventually started his own band in fall of 84 called Non Alcoholics and quit Crotchpunch. in winter of 85 Crotchpunch released a collection of tracks recorded between 81-83 called "Songs From Unda". this 19 track classic included such timeless hardcore anthems as "My foot is on your face", "Thats the hippie that i hate", "Bloody Fist Waltz", and the definitive "Crotchpunch".

Well by fall of 86 it was down to Vinny Crotchpunch as the lasting member of Crotchpunch. He spent most of his time attending local shows and supportting the scene. He spent most of 84-85 in NYC hanging in the NYHC scene selling Crotchpunch tapes and patches. He moved to Cleveland Ohio in late 85 to work constuction for his dad. Crotchpunch was looking like its days were numbered.

While in Cleveland, Vinny met a kid named Dee Struction at a Black Flag show in 85. They baecame friends and started to discuss Crotchpunch's future. Dee had played drums for a band called Vomit from 82-84 and was looking to start a new. The two found the rest of the lineup by the end of 86. the new line up of Vinny, Dee, guitarists Billy Knuckles & Tony Terrific, and bassist Louie Stabwound. this line up stood til 1992 when Dee Struction was killed when he suddenly burst into flames during a show at The Empire Theater. his death sent Vinny on a rampage of blood and booze that ended him up in Mansfield State Prison til 1997. The band broke up but managed to release a remarkable 5 albums, 17 7"s and 5 eps in that time. Over 100 songs but still never cracked into the main hardcore scene.

In 1997 Vinny was released from prison and moved to Philadelphia to start a new. By this time Crotchpunch was through and Vinny was as well. He rarely attended shows and often was found hanging out in Sports Bars listen to Jock Rock. 3 years went by and nothing seemed to change until he met a local hardcore kid at a bar by the name of Mick O'Rielly, and this sparked his interest in Crotchpunch once again. by this time though vinny was a 34 year old ex convict with not much left to give. Mick would sit and talk about hardcore and the early days. Vinny would tell him stories of the road and past memebers. They frequented local bars and often ended up in fights, Vinny told Mick he reminded him of himself when he was younger. He named mick "the Magnificant Bastard" because of the way Mick often treated people. in late 2000 Crotchpunch breifly reformed and that was quickly halted by the failing health of Vinny. years of hard living and hard drinking had finally caught up to Vinny and he wasn't able to continue on with Crotchpunch. Mick was devistated and stood by Vinny until one fateful evening. One nite in the fall of 2000 Mick came to Vinny's house to find he had gone. No one knew where he went or if he is still alive. all that vinny left was a note for Mick saying "Crotchpunch is yours and make it happen!" that day Mick went home and wrote a song. By 2001 Crotchpunch was back together and had a new energy. Mick took the name Vinny Crotchpunch and the rest is history. Thus began the new Low Blow Crew and Mainline Hardcore.

The band is currently writing songs for there first album in 8 years called "Below the Belt". It will have 13 new tracks as well as some classics like "Crotchpunch" and "We hate girl bands". Look for it in spring of 2001.
