2fort

2Fort is made of two forts, which only differ in color schemes. A bridge connects them over a pool of water with tunnels leading into it. There are two Respawn Rooms per team, a Sniper Nest, and a Flag Room. Directly in the center of the Sniper Nest is the Flag Capture Point, which is slightly hidden in a "Pill Box" of sorts. The Sniper Nest sits over two entrances to the lower level of the base. The entrances branch together, run under the Grate, then separate into three different paths. One leads away from the base via an Underwater Tunnel, and the other two split off and advance towards the Ramp Room. From the Ramp Room, you must elevate yourself a level and then either drop down the Elevator, or run into the Upstairs. The Upstairs has a respawn Room right next to it, and leads to the Grate and Sniper Nest, which are all on that same floor. If you're heading for the Flag Room, then you'll want to run down the Ramp to the Basement. In the basement there's a Resupply Room, the bottom of the Elevator, and the Flag Room.

Ideal Number of Players: 4-12

Map Objective: Steal the enemy flag and bring it to your capture point.

Scoring: 10 team points and 10 personal points per capture.

Offensive Strategies:

Offensively, 2Fort can be a tough nut to crack if you go in blindly. There's a long run to the enemy base which provides for easy sniper shots, and once inside there are dozens of good places for your opponents to place Sentry Guns. To combat the first problem, either persuade your own snipers to attack theirs, or get cover fire from some form of rockets. Flame rockets will provide bad eyesight for a sniper unless they're moving. This will force them to shoot when they're not fully stable. The only other way to combat this run, is to dive into the water and emerge from their tunnel, this is a great way to sneak a spy in. Once inside, grenades will be your best friend to combat Sentry Guns. Hit the ramp room hard. There a few places for SG's in this room, so be wary when you hit it. A good sneak maneuver is to drop down the elevator shaft, because it won't work for your team. Always be sure to grenade the Flag Room, because it's infamous for a Sentry Gun location. If you don't want to blitz through the front doors, soldiers are capable of Rocket Jumping up into the Sniper Nest from here a good direct assault can be made down the Ramp to the Basement. Keep in mind that a good place for a SG is Upstairs where you'll have to run by to go down the Ramp. There are two best ways to combat this. Either toss grenades at it from the lower level of the Ramp Room, or to Rocket Jump up through the hole in the grate and bounce a grenade around the corner.

Defensive Strategies:

Defense has the easy job on any map. Keep the other guy from winning. 2Fort helps to simplify the job in many ways. The Snipers have 4 location they can shoot from across the bridged area: Either side of the Sniper Nest, and either door on the lower level. Sniping once or twice from the lower level is a good way to surprise people, and shouldn't be underestimated. The other powerhouse of defense in 2Fort, is the Engineer. There are dozens of good corners and balconies for a crafty Engineer to place a SG on. Aside from the position mentions in the offensive section, the Ramp Room has an overhead plank that is a good location of a SG, and also helps prevent people from running down the Elevator. As always the benefit of an engineer is the ability to use his SG's as a trap, and lead people into their field for fire. The basement is perfect for this with a few nooks to hide SG's in. A single Engineer and a HWguy should not have too tough a time defending the basement.
