Regiment History

The 10th Regiment was one of the first regiments formed when the program was created. It is also one of the only regiments in the state to still have its original regiment number.

The 10th Regiment was originally located at the New Scotland Avenue Armory in Albany, NY. The 10th Regiment is now located at Albany High School at 700 Washington Avenue in Albany. This move was made due to various problems with the armory, such as ownership and structural damage.

The 10th Regiment has over the years become one of the most decorated regiments in the state. The 10th Regiment has earned numerous 1st Place ribbons for the Drill Team Competition, Drill and Ceremony Competition, Honor Corps, Land Navigation, Presidential Physical Phitness, and others.

The 10th Regiment has had a fluctuating attendance over the years. The Regiment at any given time since its beginning has had anywhere from 15 to 125 cadets enrolled in the program. The 10th Regiment was also at one time split into 2 seperate companies.

Today the 10th Regiment has about 50 cadets enrolled in the program, with an average attendance of 20-30 cadets a week.
