Bon anniversaire a moi!*
..yesterday, along with fellow poissons d'avril Chris Evans, Phillip Schofield, David Gower, Ali MacGraw, Debbie Reynolds, Michael Praed (a former Copacabana lead, fact fans) "and Sun reader Jim Johnstone from Sunderland".
I had a lovely day - well, granted I could have done without the nine hours in work but that's what you get for blowing all your remaining leave allocation on a nice big honeymoon - and we went for a fab meal in the evening at the Hard Rock Cafe in Park Lane.
We were continuing a tradition (well, OK, only a two year tradition so far) because on my birthday last year we were at the HRC at Universal Studios in Hollywood - oops, sorry, "place dropping" there. Anyway, on that occasion I was slightly miffed that there was a fellow April fish in the house who blagged the "special cake with candle" that birthday boys'n'girls often get in these places.
Lo and behold, I knew I could rely on Buffy - she'd tipped the waiters off last night, with the result that my pud came with a big candle in it (just as well it wasn't the actual number for health and safety reasons - 36 since you ask, it's only right I 'fess up), and the whole place was silenced, I was made to stand on my chair, and all the patrons were led in a chorus of Happy Birthday To You that left a little to be desired in the purist four-part harmony department but it's the thought that counts...and after the initial embarrassment I actually loved it, being the am-dram showbiz tart what I am.
Fab evening! ;-)) Now looking forward to a relaxing and, it looks like, sunny spring weekend with Buffy and Pandy (not to mention Pandy's new friend - a Harry Hill "Stouffer" glove puppet Buffy gave me...)
* or is it "bonne", I'm a bit rusty these days Francophonically speaking...
