 Eward Evan Griffiths was born and married in Gippsland he joined the Navy in 1890 he retired in 1935 as he had reached his age limit. He served in the Victorian state navy and went to China during the Boxer Rebelion he continued to serve his country during War and Peace and raise a family with his wife Abbey. They both went to live in Williamstown they had five children 

His height was 5 foot 5inches Hair Dark eyes Hazel Complexion Shallow Scar on right forearm he received a China Contingent Medal Long Service and Good Conduct Medal British War Medal. Like a lot of our Pioneers these people the are unsung Heroes of this Country. I am proud of my fathers family record of being one of the Pioneers of this Country that became a Federation.
