"Take this fear call it love,
tell me that you're here and
there's nothing to be scared of".

Written in Venice Beach, California.
Boots Ottestand is the singer for a
Norwegian band (really, I swear!!) called
the getaway people.
Someone suggested we write a
song together, and lo and behold
we had a great time doing so.
I was in the midst of falling head over
heels for the wrong girl
(yeah, the same wrong girl as
"with my heart in your hands"),
and Boots was
busy falling for the right girl.
We were both little puppy dogs
in love with being in love though,
which made it easy for this song
to come to life.
We were both petrified of
rejection and this song reflects
that feeling of willing oneself to overcome
fear and allowing vulnerability.
We are all scared with it comes to matters of the heart,
and anyone who tells you different is either
lying or an android.
By the way, a simple android test...
ask the person if they like
"Dancer in the dark"- the movie starring
Bjork-if they don't, they
may well be an android. Oh, never mind.
It's just a poppy little song about pushing
fear out of the way and taking risks
necessary to true love, and if
it doesn't work then dust
yourself off and start again.
