This one took forever to get right.
I spent days with the chorus, trying
to make it all make sense.
I think it all started with a trip to
Los Angeles.
I was staying at a friends house
and just hammering away at the
chorus. It kept changing and
it didn't feel right for days.
I finished it in Seattle. It's kind of a funny
song really. The protagonist of
the song is jokingly cocksure.
Envion a guy following someone
around at a party and telling her
"When you leave this room, all you
will think about is me". The thing
is that she doesn't even notice that he is talking.
It may as well be a fly buzzing
around her head.
His take on it is "If you just give me the
chance, you'd be mesmerized.
The REAL you would love to turn around
and run out of here with me, you're just
too caught up in what you think you are".
Whatever, it's just a desperate nerdy guy
who wants attention.
