Omega Psi Phi History

This page is dedicated to giving a reader an elementary education of our beloved fraternity and its founders.

THE FOUNDERS

Ernest E.Just.

Brother Just was born in Charleston, South Carolina . He went on to graduate from Dartmouth College with honors(Phi Beta Kappa). Bro. Just earned his doctoral degree in Philosophy from the Univ. of Chicago. He was also the 1st recipient of the NAACP's Spingarn Award.

Edgar A. Love

Brother Love was born in Virginia. He attended Howard Univ. where he obtained a bachelors degree in Theology. He later went to Boston Univ. and got a bachelors in Divinity. He finally went to Morgan College where he recived a doctorate of Divinity.

Oscar J.Cooper

Brother Copper is a native of Washington, D.C. His academic tenure did not lead him far from his place of birth since he chose Howard Univ. to pursue all his academic endeavors. He attended Howard U until he graduated with a medical degree. He also decided to establish his medical practice in the D.C area.

Frank Coleman

Brother Coleman was also a native of the D.C area. He and Oscar Cooper were classmates in both high school(M Street High) and college at Howard Universtity. Frank Coleman finished at Howard with a masters degree of science. He later became a physics professor at Howard U.

Fraternity History

The fratenity of Omega Psi Phi was founded in the year 1911. On the date of November the 17th. It was not till October , 3 years later that the Que Psi Phi gained full incorparation. Primarily due to administrative resistance to such a progress agenda during those times.
