Nightmare
An immobilizing fear spreads quickly
Throughout my body and soul
As I realize there is nowhere to run
There is nowhere to hide.
I see at once my past, my present, my future
My fate is in unseen hands.
Baring down on me quickly
I hear the thunderous roars of my nightmares
I see the funnels moving closer still.
Panic grips my heart as I feel the wind
Has it been minutes, hours, or days?
Time seems to stand still
As I listen to the rhythmic whir get louder.
And suddenly I am pleading
That what I have dreamt of seeing for years
Would vanish and leave my life untouched.

Sunshine
Such gratitude,
What can I say?
Each request,
Never turned away.
A ray of sun,
Was sent to me.
Someone saw,
I had a need.
This sister opened,
My once cold heart.
With actions of love,
Right from the start.
