Artist's statement: http://www.angelfire.com/my/jgalleria/cloneindex.html UCLONE site, Jennifer Coates The purpose of this site is to make people think about Cloning (in general) and groups such as Clonaid. While they have their opinions..it is hard to believe that living within a computer with only a hard drive as a mind (as they see in the future) could be better than living in a body. To me it is, in a sense, reversing evolution, not going forward. My purpose was to create a company that made the user feel uneasy about why these people were so eager to get your business. The user does not know really anything about this company, but the offers seem intriguing. In reality the company will own you and your DNA, everything about you. They will have the right to use your clone whenever they please without your consent. I took some of Clonaid's ideas directly from their site, but the obviously ridiculous ideas are not..but who knows where it may be taking us In the Policy statement you read that you basically sign away your rights to your cells as soon as you purchase a Cloning plan with UCLONE. Browsing the Internet, I came across the Clonaid site. After reading about their company and who they are I felt very strange about the whole Cloning concept. It was interesting how fictious these people and their company seemed, but they are real and doing the things they say they are. (at least to some degree) Rael and his followers are growing by the day, and his beliefs are also. He eventually would like to make the human being to just be a soul within a computer with no body at all. How would one experience life? doesn't seem very appealing to me.
