MS III: The Final Showdown
| Welcome to our quest. We believe the joy
in questing comes from playing, not solving, just like when the last Christmas
present is opened and you feel disappointed. This is not a walk-though
or solution guide: It is simply some hints to help truly lost adventurers.
The Village 1. What am I doing here? What do I do? You are an adventurer and there's trouble afoot in this little village. In the last quest you found Master Socket's lab and turned off his lag machine. In this quest he's back making trouble, in fact, he has kidnapped someone and you must rescue them. You start with nothing, so the best idea is to explore. We suggest walking into the Ptomaine Tavern and saying ALE. The bartender will talk to you. If something he says is in brackets [like this] you can ask about it and get more clues. What can I do in the Tavern? Try saying ALE to the bartender. If he says something in [brackets] try asking him about that word. What can I do in the book store? Read. Try bumping the shelves and read everything you find. There are important hints here for the entire game. You can also sell books here if you have one. Drop it on the grate. What can I do in the Mayor's Office? The first rule of adventuring is read everything. The second rule is take everything. How do I get inside the closet in the Mayor's office? What color is the keyhole? Bump the door and find out. You need a key that color to get in. What can I do in the bank? You need to get in the vault. To get inside you need to find or figure out the combination. I know the combination but it says I need a bank ID card! There is not a bank ID laying around in plain sight. You might find one by solving other problems, however. How do I get inside the clock? Bump the door. What color is the keyhole? What do I do inside the clock? Read the sign. You need to set the clock to a certain time to do certain things. Guessing will probably not help. Read things. Talk to the bartender about the clock. Diamond Maze How do I move? Take a bottle of flying potion and face the way you want to go. Press F3 to jump. I keep geeting sent back! Two of the three colors are safe to jump on while one color will send you back to the start of the maze. Experiment and see which two colors are safe and you're set. Chess Puzzle I don't know what to do! You do not have to be a chess master to solve this puzzle. Queens can move straight in any direction: row, column, or diagonally. There is ONE square where none of the 7 black queens can reach. Place the white queen on that square to win. Magic Sphere I see the floor tile pattern and it looks like there is no way to make the ball red when you get to the door! Looks can be deceiving. There is a book in the bookstore with an extra hint if you need it. Monster Maze How does this work? I keep getting killed! Monsters and fire will send you back. Bump the wood ONCE to set it afire. The monsters are also on timers so do not take too long working through the maze. Some need to be scared away long before you get to them. The Woodlands I can't get the axe! The axe is enchanted. It tries to keep from being taken. You have to fool it. There is a switch nearby which helps a little. Master Socket's 3D Maze What do I do in the maze? Find Felorin. He's in a cage dangling over a steep drop. Felorin keeps falling! Is this puzzle random? Yes and no. The three numbers you guess are different each time you play. However, you are given the sum of the three numbers as a clue. Let's say the sum is 11. You guess 5 and miss. We know the other two numbers cannot be 6 and 0. You guess 3 and miss. We know the other two numbers cannot be 8 and 0. You guess 2 and it is correct. 11-2= 9. The last two numbers equal 9. We guessed 5, so 5 and 4 are out. We guessed 6, so 6 and 3 are out. We guessed 2 and it was right so 2 and 7 cannot be it. The only possibilities left are 1 and 8. They are correct. END of FAQ
