Engine and components
3/16/2000 27,581 miles. Windshield washers not working. Replaced multifunction switch. Right washer jet broken and cowl panel cracked where jets mount. Both parts replaced.
4/25/2000 30130 miles Cruise control switch replaced. Lower intake manifold gaskets leaking. Repaired. Drivers side door striker adjusted. (Door wasnt latching properly.)
6/19/2000 32,212 miles. Replaced rear hatch power lock actuator. Removed and replaced engine assembly.
7/21/2000 Replaced running boards and repainted. Repainted hood and front fender assembly. Replaced moonroof shade. (Took two months to get them to fix it. During this period vehicle was kept in their shop for one whole month.)
12/5/2000 Radiator and thermostat replaced.
4/20/01 Intake manifold gaskets leaking. Replaced at another dealer.
4/23/01Same problem. Second dealership informs the problem was resolved through Program 00M12. Says problem sounds like it is occuring in the engine. Took back to Dinger. They gave me a hassle about going to another dealr and about a loaner. Sated they didn't have to work on the engine even though there was a warranty. Eventually stated they would look at it.

Soon after I bought it, the windshied wipers failed and so did the fluid jet.
Engine running rough. Engine light came on. Brought it in several times before they realized what the problem was. By letting me drive it, the engine deteriorated to the point where it had to be replaced.
Engine at this point was idling up & down and stalling out. Ran rough and sounded like a cement mixer. Engine had to be replaced. They wouldnt tell me what exactly was wrong with it.
Running boards were rusting out and hood paint was crazing and spotting. After saying it was only bird crap, they finally relented and redid the paint and boards. Now, the paint is flaking off.
They said it had nothing to do with the engine work done. They did admit it was unusual for a radiator to go on a three year old vehicle.
Had to have the same thing that was replaced on the old engine replaced on the new one. Different dealer fixed it. Said that previous work was sloppy and incorrect. |
