![]() Well, it is that time of year again folks! Time for baking cookies, buying and wrapping presents, singing carols, sending cards, time to have a nice warm fire in the fireplace, and to decorate the Christmas tree. But isn't there something missing among all of this hustle and bustle? I mean, take a moment to stop and think....WHY do we do the things we do? What is the point of this time of year? Have we gotten too caught up in the excitement and magic of the season, and forgotten the true meaning of Christmas? It is so much more than just the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because, had it not been for His death and Resurrection, His birth would have meant little to us. He came to this earth to teach us how to live, true. But He came for something so much more. He came to give Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. He did not have to die, but He willingly lay down His life that we might live. The Bible says Jesus is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. NO man (or woman) comes to the Father BUT BY HIM! Not Allah, not Buddha, not by being a good person, ONLY by Jesus! And it goes so much deeper than just believing IN Jesus. After all, satan himself believes IN Jesus, as in His reality and His existence. We must confess we are sinners unable to save ourselves. And we must accept Christ's sacrifice for us. We must repent of our since, and repentance, as one child put it, simply means being sorry enough to stop. We need to ask Him into our hearts and into our lives. And then we must walk accordingly. If you are not sure HOW we are to live, there is an answer for you. It lies within the pages of God's Word, the Bible. Pick up a copy and start reading it. In its pages you will learn God's Will for your life. You will get to know this Man they call Jesus. And you will grow to love Him. And THAT is what Christmas is about. Remembering what God gave to us by sending His only Son, that through Him we might have salvation. I pray that you are able to take some time this season and really focus on this wonderful truth. And have a very Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
