Dedicated to the
boy who will never be to big for my arms.
The first moment I held you, I gazed at my heart so new, Not believing I saw it looking back at me, In the eyes of my son, that's you! My precious baby boy, So sweet and so fair, Made from all innocence, With daddy's love and mommy's care. The years have only started, I look forward to the days that we'll share, For in playtime and dreamtime, By your side, I'll be there. For, no more at the times of, Tummy bumps and squished ribs, You've traded those in For slobber kisses and bibs. So play merry! Sing songs, Plant flowers that will grow. Chase kittens and small fairies, They follow the laughter of babies you know. And all to soon I'll watch as you grow, Into the man that you'll one day be, But I'll always see the very eyes, Of my first precious baby. So sleep deep and sleep long, Dear little one, The world can wait this night, Your life with me has just begun. Jennah R. Gay 02/11/2000 |
