DONNA JEAN BAKER
JANUARY 4,1961 - JUNE 12, 1964
DAUGHTER OF JOANN CARUSO AND PAUL BAKER SR.

DONNA JEAN BAKER

DONNA JEAN, THE FOURTH CHILD OF JOANN AND PAUL (BUD) BAKER DEVELOPED CANCER AT A VERY YOUNG AGE. SHE PASSED AWAY AT CHILDRENS HOSPITAL IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA.

DOROTHY CARUSO REMEMBERS;
DONNA WAS 9 MONTHS OLD WHEN HER RIGHT EYE STARTED TO CROSS, THE DOCTORS THOUGHT IT WAS A LAZY EYE AT FIRST AND SHE WORE A PATCH FOR AWHILE, IT DIDN'T HELP AND SEVERAL MONTHS LATER THE OTHER EYE STARTED TO CROSS. THE DIAGNOSIS OF A BRAIN TUMOR WAS MADE AND SURGERY WAS PERFORMED BUT THE TUMOR HAD GROWN SO MUCH AND IN A VERY PRECARIOUS POSITION THEY COULD NOT REMOVE IT ALL . DONNA WAS A VERY HAPPY BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GIRL. SHE USED TO LAY ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF THE TV AND SAY SHE WAS WATCHING CARTOONS (SHE WAS BLIND)YET SHE COULD TELL YOU THE NAME OF THE CARTOON. SHE WAS A VERY SMART LITTLE GIRL, SHE COULD DRESS HERSELF, AND AS LONG AS FURNITURE WAS NOT MOVED SHE NEVER RAN INTO ANYTHING. SHE LOVED TO GO FOR RIDES IN THE CAR, SHE WANTED TO GO TO "AUNT DOTSY" HOUSE I WOULD TAKE HER IN THE CAR FOR SEVERAL BLOCKS THAN TAKE HER HOME AND SHE WAS SATISFIED. I WOULD VISIT HER IN THE HOSPITAL AND SHE WAS ALWAYS TALKING AND DID VERY LITTLE CRYING OR COMPLAINING. SHE WAS A VERY SWEET AND LOVING LITTLE GIRL FOR ALL THE PAIN SHE WENT THROUGH IN HER SHORT 3AND A HALF YEARS ON THIS EARTH. AFTER ALL THESE YEARS I STILL THINK ABOUT WHAT HER LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE. WE WERE ALL BLESSED TO HAVE HAD HER IN OUR LIVES.
