What is USY?
Fun times, for sure!
USY stands for United Synagogue Youth and is the youth group of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. USY is divided into three levels: the chapter, the region, and international. The chapter is probably in your synagogue or a synagogue nearby which is affiliated with the United Synagogue, an organization which links all the Conservative synagogues in North America. In your chapter, you can attend monthly events, meet other Jewish teenagers, and even serve on your chapter board, which helps plan what events your chapter does! On the regional level, we are New England Region USY, also called NERUSY and are comprised of chapters from Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Rhode Island. In our region you can attend conventions, dances, sports games and other cool events while meeting some of the best friends of your life!! There are 17 of these regions around the U.S. and Canada, and we all come together at one huge International Convention every December.
