Reaching Out

A Poem At Night

Reflections Of You

CardGreeting

Reaching Out
Written for Kim & Deb
by Doug Stewart 16 May 2000.

-------------------------------
My world is huge, and small
The pace is fast, and so slow
Tonight, is morning Today, is yesterday
I talk, without speaking I feel, without touch
Alone, but in the company of others Apart, but surrounded by friends
Confusion, and knowledge Hands and hearts reach out, to the Internet :-)

A Poem At Night
by Doug Stewart 30 May 2000
---------------------------
The words I have
The words I say
I twist like that
And turn this way

I don't know why
I don't know how
It starts like this
And travels around

The start has begun
The end is far
To match the words
And rhyme nor jar

And when you think
My end is nigh
I find the link
And sprint off high

Not words of Love
No words of Pain
No speak of care
Nor that disdain

For here this poem
As twist it might
Has come to rest
At end of night

Reflections of you
For Lorelle
by Doug Stewart 10 June 2000 -------------------------
Through good times and bad
Through happy and sad
My heart will always hold true
All these reflections of you

A hope - when none can be seen
A prayer - when all seems lost
A thought - when I am down

Through good times and bad
Through happy and sad
My heart will always hold true
All these reflections of you

A smell - to remind me of you
A wish - when happiness is hidden
A touch - when I am lonely

Through good times and bad
Through happy and sad
My heart will always hold true
All these reflections of you

A smile - when I really need it
A moment - when time is rushing away
A word - when I am alone

Through good times and bad
Through happy and sad
My heart will always hold true
All these reflections of you

Card greeting written for Smidget
by Doug Stewart 23 July 2000.
-------------------------------
I know it's not as pretty as
The cat upon your lap
But this one will follow you
Even when you have a nap

The eyes are yellow, to see in the dark
The face as soft as silk
And if you cuddle the card real tight
You'll feel friendship to help you through the night

A Smile In The Morning
by Doug Stewart 2 February 2002.
-------------------------------
Flickering lashes of light, threading through the early morning mist
As the grey blanket is parted by shimmering golden beams
Beads form and fall to the leafy floor
