He's a bit of a cockernee really, as his place of birth was good ol' East London! He has a small tattoo on his right shoulder - of a bolt of lightning! - and he likes to sport an earring in his left ear. Pop runs in the family - Paul's pa was in a band in the 1960s, called, ahem, The In-Betweens! Although Paul was born in the land of cockles 'n' whelks and knees-ups 'round the ol' joanna, he actually has Spanish citizenship - as prior to A1 he'd lived in Benidorm since he was 18! On Paul's first ever day at school he looked a bit of a state - cos his dad had offered to cut his hair for him, and ended up shaving the whole lot off! Although he was a real swotty pants at school when it came to subjects like History, Paul got himself into a fair bit of bother, too. He was booted out of the hotel on a school trip to Belgium - cos he let some fireworks off in the corridor! And at the school disco he caused outrage when he erm, peed on a plug and caused the speakers to blow up! Paul reckons his most treasured possession is a silver chain which he designed himself and had made up for his 18th birthday. He'd be gutted if he ever lost it. When he's not too busy with his pop career, Paul loves skating, karate, going clubbing and performing karaoke at his parents' bar! Paul reckons he looks better when he's got a decent tan. However, his fondness for going on sunbeds once ended in disaster - 'cos he burnt his privates (yeeeouch!) by lying on the bed for too long!!! Although he likes to dress fairly casually, Paul does have something of a snoot fashion history: he once modeled clothes by posh French designer Christian Dior on a Spanish TV show! And talking of all things garb-like, Paul displays real domestic tendencies whenever the guys are on the road - he always packs an iron in his suitcase! Paul's renowned for having an eye for the ladies. If you were lucky enough to have Paul coming round for tea, then the best thing to cook for him would be some Mexican nosh! He loves spicy dishes like chill con carne most of all. Boyzone once slagged off A1 - saying they didn't think their first stage show was much cop. Bah - bunch of ol' grumps! Paul once jokingly reckoned he goes out in disguise so the fans can't spot him. And what does he wear? A shiny pink shell suit, of course! On when he used to live in Spain: 'My whole life in Spain was just disgusting - I can't go into it. From 18 to 20 I had quite a few romances. It was in Benidorm...you know what I mean? What was I doing there? I danced in a nightclub - that was always good for pulling. I've calmed down a lot now. I'm waiting for the right girl. On what kind of sport he would be - if he had to choose: 'It'd probably be Australian Rules Football, cos basically anything goes when it comes down to the Paulster! I'm just very outgoing and I'll try anything once. Like bungee jumping - I tied myself to my sister once and jumped 280 foot backwards off a crane! I was a member of a dangerous sports team when I was about 17. On being photographed starkers: 'I have been! Before I was in the band I was a model and I did nude photographs. Nude modeling is brilliant, you don't really show your bits. For my promo shots when I wanted to get into the group I was photographed with a nude model friend of mine, Rachel. I thought that would get me noticed! He grew up in the East End until he was 11, and then Hertfordshire. Age 18, he moved to outside Benidorm, Spain. His mother is from Whitby (Scottish and English) and father is from India (Indian and Italian). Previous jobs: a model for Christian Dior, a representative for a food company on the Costa Blanca, film dancers and hypnotist, has worked in a burger bar and danced in a nightclub
