9th Jan:
7000th StEx performance! and one of the BEST I have ever seen! We all went up in costume,
and we had press tickets, which were free! And we sat in the paddock (best seats) The cast
were all at their best, and the show went perfectly! We had loads of fun, and gots loads
of free merchandice! Everyone was hyper and the audience were great too! they were giving
out free flags at the foyer so evryone was waving them! We got alot of attention from the
actors too. We went to the press party up in the dress circle bar during the interval, and
after the show we went up onstage and had out photos taken with some of the cast!
Trevor (Poppa) also said a few words at the end of the show about it being the 7000th, and
we saw ALW at one point...
It was one of the best perfomances I have ever been to! Roll on 8000th! ;)
27th Dec:
Fantastic show! Everyone was totaly hyped up! I swear they were all on summant! We had
Danni k-Woller as Dinah! (Aw!) and a few National understudies! Everyone was going their
best, especially Lez and Adrian! Adrian kept doing all these extra spins, on 2 wheels etc,
and he and Lez kept putting in the coolest Ad-libs! Also, a bit of a slip up for one of
the Rockies during Right Place Right Time, but it was well recovered!
Also, we lost GB at the begginging of the mega-mix (No-one knows where he went! Not even
the cast!) But it looked ok... Electra took the whole spotlight for the One Rock 'n' Roll
too many bit, and Adrian thought he'd take over as GB for a laugh during the pumping Iron
bit! He look so funny it had us in hysterics! But the show was great! It's a shame the
cast have to do so many around Christmas though...
15th Dec:
Ok.. BIG apollogy here! MSN wouldn't let me edit this page for AGES! *Kicks MSN* and I've
busy resently, but now I got time (and ability!) to update!
Well, quite a bit's happened at StEx scine July.. (oops, sorry!) The main thing is,
they've updated the music a bit, there's alot of funky new drumbeats in Locomotion, AC/DC
and the rap, and they ROCK!
Also, theres alot of news about the video of StEx. We now know official from RUG that it
should be out around early 2002, though the cast appear to have not heard ANYTHING about
it yet, but I'll keep you posted on it... Wonder who'll be in it?
Also, they've changed the kiss at the end of Next Time *snigger* It looks kinda stupid...
Rusty and Pearl kinda go round the stage, then breack up, and come back to each other...
but they're facing the opposite way, so when they kiss, they do a little 180 spin, then
hug... it looks so silly... cracks me up really! also, they've adeed a bit more movemant
to alot of the sections... more people going round in circles 'n' stuff, but it's good...
Only about 15 weeks till the cast change *sniff* Gonna miss Adie and Marissa, they were so
good!
Also, the last time i went, Trevor (Poppa) was swung off at the end of race 4. Graham
martin had to take over. He was a couple of seconds late onstage, and came on carrying one
glove! He also dodn't seems to have anything on his arms... We found out later that he was
halfway to the pub when they called him back, and he had only 6 mins to get changed and
onstage! Phew, I couldn't even put my skates on that time! Never mind wig, beard, costume
etc.. well done Graham!
8th July: (Thank goodness for PC calenders!)
*Sniffle* Jamie Goulding (Flat Top) left tonight! He's going to be a semi lead roles in
ALW new musical 'The Beautiful Game'. He seemed to be giving it his all for the whole
performance, and we were giving him loads of cheers throughout (Esp. my friend Sparky and
her little sister!). At the end of the show, he did his last lap of the track, and stopped
half way round and took a photo of the cast on stage with his camera! He got back and was
suddenly attacked by some of the cast, including Electra, Greaseball and the Rockies, who
knocked him over and pretnded to beat him up! We saw him at the stagedoor later to say our
goodbyes. Good luck Jamie! You were a great Flat-top!
Also, Martim Booth has left the cast and Micheal Skyers is back as Rocky 1. I missed loads
of little ad-libs Micheal used to do, so I'm glad he's back! Though I will miss Martins
Box splits (no pun intended). :)
The show was great, and the audience was really good, except I think we drowned them out
with our cheering! Marissa'a mic broke during Next Time, so she had to use the emergancy
one. She didn't use it too well, she coulda played to it a little more!
9th June:
Darn! They've fixed the star!
Tonight was good! Everytihng went wele, except Marissa fell over in freight, and cos she
was 2nd in the line of 4, caused this huge crash! Luckily they all managed to keep singing
and scramble back up again!
Rob Grose was playing Rocky1, and was great! Ricky Ray-A (Krupp) was playing rocky 3,
which i haven't seen before, and he was great! He needs some work on the 'coffeegrinder'
move and a few others in 'Right Place, Right Time', but he did really well!
17th May:
Everyone was in a hypermood tonight, but the major thing that happened was that
the ramp broke down during race 1. The REALLY loud announcement of 'Trains stop racing!'
(I love the way they refere to them as trains!) and everyone just stood there. The back
ramp seemed out of place, and they moved it around a bit, before directing the trains to
'Prompt corner' which is the race track stage left, and they just finished the race
quickly with Nintendo's crash. Unfortunatley, they hadn't had time to stop the bit of
pre-recorded drum music in time, so hey had to keep repeating it, because the next bit was
the end of the race! It got tiedious! The audience was disturbingly quiet at the end.
11th May:
good performance, except that the lighting in the Starlight Sequence broke... I
though everthing was fine but I noticed the star kept swinging alot. When it came to the
end, instead of the *cough cough* of Dustin, I heard 'Skaters offstage. Repeat, skaters
offstage' Then Adrian went off really quciky. Then they announced a technical error, and
the show was stopped for about 7 mins! At the stage door I found out that the star had
broken and was showering the stage (and Adrian) in glass! He kept going though!
They've relit the song now, using the green light from AC/DC, and make it fan out ocross
the stage (blinding the peeps in the balcony, it's still too bright) which bobs slowly up
and down. Then on the 'I am the Starlight' bit, it goes into a disco effect (Like the bit
from the end of Light at the End of the tunnel), which is quite impressive. It clashes
with the blue a bit though. We wish they'd bring the train from the Origianlal back!
25th+27th March:
Woah! Sorry I havn't updated in a while people! I've had a dance exam and I've
been generally busy! I've got more time to update now though...
As most of you probably know, the 27th March was Starlight's 16th birthday (Happy b-day
StEx!!) and we'd maneged to get our favourite seats for the last performance of the cast
on Sat the 25th. It was a FANTASTIC performance! 9 of the cast members where leaving, so
everyone was playing their best! Most people spotted us in the seat, so were waving etc
through the show....it was cool! Unfortunately, Roni Bruno (Buffy) was leaving! She was
such a fantastic Buffy, and we all miss her! She was playing her last night so well, ans
everyone was doing all the things they'd ever wanted to do onstage that night! I'd never
seen so much kissing! :) At the end of the perfornace, the people who were leaving took
their last run of the track, including some of the people who weren't onstage.
The 27th was a laugh! The new cast are great, although they'd be even greater if they
didn't keep falling over! (But it was their first night, bless!) Most of the new cast were
the nationalities, so Rolling stock was funny! Nintendo fell over as soon as he came
onstage! All the cast who were now swings were standing at the back with us, so I had to
be careful what I said! Anna (Pearl's Domain) was there too, and we had a right laugh! We
all missed Roni and Adrian Smith though!
10th March:
Fantastic performance! The bridge wasn't working for the first half, so
everything had to be changed: Electra's entrance was a bit strange. He had to come in on
the ramp, so he jumped down to make it more impressive! And Poppa's blues looked a bit
empty with out the bridge: Again Rocky 1 had to come in Via the ramp!
Race 1 was even wierder! Because they couldn't use the bridge, at the starting line there
was a very loud announser saying 'All trains: Reroute situation, Reroute situation! No
circle, no circle! Continue on countdown!' Umfortunately there wasn't a countdown for
about a minute and a half! It was a bit wierd but the audience seemed to get the idea that
there were technical problems. The race itself only lasted about 50 seconds! The went
around the back, turned around, and came back again! Very strange! Nintendo had to give a
marshal his helmet so he could crash!
they were doing testings during the interval, and I think they moved it by hand during
race 2, but the rest of the show went fine! It kept the actors sharp though - I think it
was one of the best shows performance wise!

This ticket has a history behind it! This was one of the worst nights Starlight Express
has ever seen (It was the worst night Adrian had ever seen, and it made some of the actors
want to quit, apparently!) EVERYTHING went wrong! The worst thing about it, was it was
PACKED, I got Standing 31, which is the most I've ever seen! Here are a list of some of
the things that happened:
- Volta didn't excist (i.e, she wasn't there, I suppose there weren't enough people for
someone to play her!)
- Jessica Cooper was Pearl! During the Rap, she just disapeered, right before her big solo
dance. *stage goes dark, huge spotlights come on, NO PEARL!*
- During one of the races, either the track of bridge broke on the balcony, and they had
to stop the race.
- Rocky 2 was played by someone who had never played before, so he didn't know the dances
properly, and was behind.
- Adrian hurt his ankle and had to go off during light at the end of the tunnel, but
luckily came back on a few minutes later.
- Roni's mic broke during 'Rolling Stock Reprise' and she had to use the very large
emergancy one. She used it very well though, considering she had to dance with it!
- Loads of other peeps hurt themselves. We even lost 4 of Greaseball's gang at one point.
- Rory (Rocky 1) forgot his line (D'oh!)
Some reasons for this happening was that the blocked off seating at the top of the balcony
was ripped out. This was where row Q was, apparently where the ghost of the theatre was
supposed to be. Also Miss Saigon and RENT were closed on the same day.
