Los Angeles
Los Angeles

You dont' know what you've got until you lose it--
You watched a son walk away from the only father he'll ever know.
Dreams come to those fragile enough,
and lies seep into those burned by cold.
Hatred stays where no one can see--
it falsely remains in the back of your head.
Can you please explain why you taught me this?
I'd love to be like you,
I'd love to know the cruelty in your hands...
It burns at the eyes, but it means so much.
Just please know that I forgive you--
The clouds are on fire now that you've named them,
and the hearts you reap only thank you for your conscience.
Realize that I have a mind forever because you had something to be.
