Checkmate
Checkmate

One time I swore I'd never be happy again,
but maybe this is different,
I'm sure I've changed since then.
My childhood is gone--
it was stolen,
in your game I was the pawn,
and if you come back I'm sure I'll want more,
so don't be here--
I need my life back,
I can't be stuck with these fears.
I still love you,
I'm sorry,
I only wanted something I could move.
