our members

Our members come from all walks of life.  We are united by one common love - the performing arts.  Nobody is discriminated against and everyone is welcome, as long as they are enthusiastic and are committed to contributing to the successful production of our performances.  A lot of hard work and effort goes into our productions but everyone who is involved always has a great time.  Not forgetting that well-deserved after show party!

Laura Kane is from Bingley, Yorkshire and currently studying for a BA (Hons) in English and French at Queen Mary and Westfield College - University of London.  She has worked as a lighting technician at the Drury Lane Theatre in London's West End, during the performance of Miss Saigon.  Laura has also worked at the Alhambra Theatre Bradford as a dresser during the touring production of The Phantom of the Opera.  She plans to produce professionally after she has graduated this year.

Emma Bowskill is from Utley and is a graduate from Durham University.  She too has worked as a dresser at the Alhambra Theatre and it is here where she met Laura.  She has been accepted as a drama student at The Rep College in Reading as of April 2002.

Victoria Bowskill is currently in her final year of school, studying for her A-levels English Language, English Literature, Theatre Studies and General Studies.   She will complete her studies in Japan. Victoria most recently undertook the role of 'Sarah' in 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' and has also played 'Titania' in A Midsummer Night's Dream, 'Jo' in Little Women and 'Frau Schmidt' in The Sound of Music. She directed her first production, A Christmas Carol, last winter and has been with the group from the beginning.

Chris Allen has been acting in amateur productions for five years.  His performances include Rebecca, Hobson's Choice, The Importance of Being Earnest, When We Are Married, Out of Order, Trivial Pursuits and Season's Greetings.  He joined Spot On! at its conception, where he appeared as Mr. Brooke in Little Women and Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol.  Chris enjoys being involved with Spot On! as there is great enthusiasm and ability in producing demanding productions, which is done with a sense of fun and confidence.  Outside of acting, he is married with two teenage daughters and is a costing clerk for a major electrical retail chain.

Meg Dobson has always loved theatre and is a member of Drama Plus, where she works on  improvisation and mime skills and is currently working towards a group exam.  As well as acting, she dances and sings, skills which were put to good use as Caroline in A Christmas Carol.  Meg enjoys being a member of Spot On! as she says they are a lovely bunch of people to work with and there is great sense of team spirit and a friendly atmosphere.

Glyn Williams is 16 years old and is currently studying for his GCSEs at Ermystead's Grammar School, where he intends to remain for his A-levels.  Glyn started acting at the age of seven and has since gained experience along with a keen attitude towards theatre.  He has been a member of several acting groups and when Victoria asked him to join Spot On! he jumped at the chance.  Glyn appeared as Laurie in Little Women and Fred in A Christmas Carol.  At the moment, he does not intend to pursue acting as a career but he believes he will remain with Spot On! for some time to come.  Outside of acting, he enjoys bowling, website design and hanging out with friends.

Meg Boulton has always enjoyed the theatre and joined Spot On! as make-up artist.  She added a professional touch to the cast of A Christmas Carol.  She is currently steeling her nerves to audition for a role in A Midsummer Night's Dream but if her nerves fail her, her skills with make-up will be a definite asset to Spot On!

Daniel Lamb has appeared in several pantomimes and sketch shows with the Crying Out Loud drama group.  He appeared as Marley in A Christmas Carol and hopes to be involved with Spot On! for some time.

Johnnie Ingram graduated from the University of Wales with a degree in Drama and now sells ice-cream for a living. He is an actor and a director, as well as a musician, writer and general dogsbody. He hopes to one day play Javert in Les Miserables, Orin in Little Shop Of Horrors and Shylock in The Merchant Of Venice.  A man can dream!  Next year he will be directing "Honk! The Ugly Duckling Musical", for Guiseley AOS (a society of which he has been a playing member for the past eight years).

Alex joined Spot On! in May 2001 after seeing an article about the group in the T&A.  Within Spot On! he takes care of all the media liaison stuff for the group. He can often be seen holding bits of white paper when photographers turn up from the local rag to take pictures - much to Daniel Lamb's amusement He also acted as 'chief button presser' for the lighting board at Bingley Arts Centre during Spot On!'s recent production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. He was later upgraded to 'chief button slider' for the Skipton Little Theatre performances, where he frequently opted for a minimalist interpretation of the curtain call (ie in the dark). Alex hopes to be involved with Spot On! for the immediate future.

Paul joined Spot On! in August 2001 where he helped backstage during the production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. He helped both with the lights and backstage. At the Spot On! Christmas party he was then given the role of DJ for the evening, through his local business Eclipse Entertainments. Paul is looking forward to the next challenge Spot On! has to throw at him!
