Mistofelees

The greatest magicians have something to learn, From Mr Mistofelees conjuring turn. And you'll all say Oh well I never was there ever a cat so cleaver as Magical Mr Mistofelees

Mistofelees is the resident magic cat, and the little tuxedo is the perfect magic cat. Mistofelees along with Victoria and Munkustrap welcome all the Jellicles to the Jellicle Ball. Misto is the cat who reveals Jennyanydots, the old Gumbie Cats, hiding spot in her song. At the beginning of the song he thinks that it will be a song about him, it wasn’t, much to his dissapointment.

Misto also has a large part in Bustopher Jones’s song, although he doesn’t sing any solo lines, he can be seen imitating Bustopher and playing with his tail and making cute facial expressions. In the Big Top Tour in Australia, Misto even tested out Bustopher’s tail. In some productions it is Misto who goes to help Old Deuteronomy. Misto has a large dancing part of the Jellicle Ball and is great to watch.

Misto is the cat called upon to rescue Old Deuteronmy from Macavity, by using his renound conjuring turn. Tugger calls upon him to do this and finally he gets a song sung about him. In some productions Misto will sing the second verse. Misto save the day by changing Cassandra with Old Deuteronomy, though he does bring her back later. In some productions Misto is actually know as Quaxo, until his song, but in some productions there are both Quaxo and Mistofelees, where Quaxo is a chorus cat. 'Mephistofeles' was Dantes name for the devil in Divina Comedia
