Hey everyone, welcome back! Dustin, Flat Top, and I have put together a little unsuspicious project for everyone. We’ve been looking at all the trains here in the yard and wondering just how many fans of Starlight Express know what they look like as real trains. Well, maybe you do and maybe you don’t.
Well, Red, if they already know what th’ trains look like in real life, why’re we doin’ this anyway?
Well, I was getting to that, huh! Not everyone knows what our friends look like as real trains. And really, it’s quite interesting.

Thanks Dustin! Anyway, those who do know what they look like can look anyway. Trains are the best! And those who don’t know should be quite interested, no? Anywaaaaaay…without further ado (from Flat Top heh heh) here are the true trains!

Greaseball, The Union Pacific
Here are a couple of pictures of what Greaseball looks like. There are a ton of these trains photographed. I’ll bet they’re one of the most popular diesel engines ever! No wonder he’s the champion. Or he was…Rusty kicked his @$$. Besides who’s the real champion in the end…?

Poppa, The Steam Train
There are tons of photos of old looking steamers. But this is one of my favorites!

Unfortunately, yes. Here is…*sigh*…Rusty. He had a nice polish job done after his big race, so he looks good. And he gets to pull mainline coaches instead of freight too.

Here you are, Dustin. It’s a model of a hopper, but I hope to find a really great picture of a real one soon. This is a huge freight car, believe me!

Electra, The Electric Engine
Here’s Electra’s kind of engine, the electric engine. You don’t see too many of these, that’s why I have a picture of a model for now. Have a great picture of an electric engine? I want!!

Electra’s not that same color. That’s a black engine.
Well, I suppose Electra is painted to look crazy and all that. He reminds me of a big lighting bolt! Anyway, that’s a typical electric engine. If there IS an electric engine painted like our Electra, I would love to see it.
