The Doors T.V performance on at the "The Rock Scene Like It Is" was introduced by Noel Harrison, the host of the show. For obvious reasons the Oedipal section of "The End" was omitted, but none the less The Doors done a fantastic version of this song.

Noel Harrison was quoted in Toronto’s Globe & Mail as saying;

"I think it’s going to be the best popular music program ever produced on TV", Harrison said. "It’s honest; isn’t trying to feed anybody any lines. The English have no money to do this type of thing; the Americans get panicky. "Yeah, Canadian TV seems much more open. The media in the States are worried only about creating the effect. Up here they give us enough time to record".
