ALICE RIPLEY
most recently seen on Broadway in James Joyce The , starring Christopher Walken. She was nominated for Tony and Drama Desk awards as Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance as Violet Hilton in the Henry Krieger/Bill Russell musical Side Show. She was Betty Schaefer in the original Broadway cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award-winning Sunset Boulevard which starred GLENN CLOSE, a role Ripley reprised opposite BETTY BUCKLEY and ELAINE PAIGE. Ripley also played Fantine in Les Miserables on Broadway and starred as Bathsheba in ALAN MENKEN and TIM RICE King David, the first production in Disney New Amsterdam Theater on Broadway.

Ripley made her Broadway debut in The Who Tommy as Mrs. Walker and then toured the country as Fantine in Les Miserables. Off-Broadway, she has appeared in Cather County at Playwright Horizons, in Bright Lights, Big City at New York Theater Workshop, and in Lil Abner at City Center Encores.

She has also taken leading roles in White Linen at the Old Globe Theater, in Six Women with Brain at the San Diego Repertory Theater, in Silent Edward at the La Jolla Playhouse, and in Show Boat with San Diego Civic Light Opera.

Ripley is currently working on a solo album (on Sh-K-Boom) and has released several discs, including two albums of Broadway duets with EMILY SKINNER (both on Varase Sarabande). She also appears on the original Broadway cast recordings of The Who Tommy, King David, Side Show, & The Rocky Horror Show.
