SUNSET THROUGH THE TREES

SUNSET THROUGH THE TREES © Paul C Smith 2000
This composition was conceived APRIL '99 as I walked from
Leicester to Knighton early one evening on the way to visit
my mate Peter the drummer. The sun was sinking low over the
west end where the sky was clear, and yet overhead was a
large dark cloud. Everywhere seemed so very still, like the
calm before the storm - and yet so peaceful! A few sunrays
streaked through the trees causing a most peculiar luminosity
and quite an eerie atmosphere. The composition is my attempt
to recapture this scene of serenity and peacefulness.
