In the novel leadership of then Vice President of India Late Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma the Indian group visited South American countries in May 1988 and presented programmes there which depicted the cultural heritage of India and the Kashmiri group presented the Kashmiri part. The shows were received with tremendous applause. The Kashmiri group that was sponsored by ICCR through J & K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was well greeted by the Kashmiries who are settled there, namely Mrs. Dr Kalia.
