MERRYMEETING COMMUNITY PLAYERS

May 14, 2000, Good Shepherd Lutheran church, Brunswick, Maine

Meeting called to order at 4:30 P.M. by President Lennie Eichman.

Present: Lennie Eichman, Henry Eichman, Andrew Stewart, Carol Briggs, Kaylee Trefethen, Bill Trefethen, Marc Rodriguez, Katie Marie Strong, Brad Howard, Deb Howard, Judy Diemer

SECRETARY'S REPORT: Minutes of the April 14, 2000 meeting were read, and accepted.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Report provided by Henry Eichman. Current general account balance is $1495.61.

DINNER THEATER: Andy Stewart met with Tom Cashman tentatively scheduled a dinner theater show at Sebasco Estates on 17 August for $350. This agreement was passed and Andy Stewart will firm up the commitment. Several parts will need to be recast to replace members of the Feb 00 cast who will not be available.

YOUTH SHOW - TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA. Auditions for the youth show have gone well. Sponsors will be approached once the show has been cast.

CHILDREN'S SHOW. The production team is coming together. Auditions will be the first week of June, probably at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

2000/20001 SEASON SLATE. The following season slate has been selected for approval at the next meeting:

Fall 00 PRINCESS IDA. Lennie Eichman directing

Spring 01 INTO THE WOODS. Marc Rodreguez directing.

Summer 01 youth show - TBD.

Summer 01 children's show - TBD.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Applications from MCP associates graduating in June 2000 were accepted from Hamish Strong, Rachel Sprague, Rachel Roberts, and Kathy Coombs. Thanks to a donation from Brad and Deb Howard, this years scholarship award pool is $200.00. It was moved and passed that the award pool be divided equally among the four applicants ($50.00 each). Congratulations to all four of these supporters of MCP. We wish them well in their future endeavors and hope to see them back in future MCP productions.

SET/COSTUME BARN CLEANUP DAY. Excellent progress was made in cleaning up and organizing the set barn. Brad Howard will look into purchasing a file cabinet from state surplus. Another maintenance day will be scheduled for a Saturday in late June to do some exterior painting and maintenance.

OFFICER NOMINATIONS.

The following slate of officer nominations was passed.

President - Henry Eichman

Vice President - Andy Stewart

Secretary - Lennie Eichman.

Treasurer - Maryjane Donley

Other nominations will be accepted at the next meeting (provided that the nominated individual has been consulted). Voting will take place at the next meeting.

Congratulations to Carol Briggs on her degree in library science. Congratulations to Henry and Brad for making it through their first four decades.

Marc & Steve Rodriguez, Frank Donley, Bill Trefethen, Emily Edmondson and Sheal Kimball will be performing in "Fiddler On the Roof" at the Chocolate Church, the weekends of May 18-20 and May 26-28.

Mt. Ararat Stage Company is presenting "Frankenstein Slept Here" and "The Ugly Duckling," two one-act plays Friday November 19 & Saturday November 20 @ 7:30 at Mt. Ararat Commons. Hamish Strong, Kathy Coombs and Deborah Penham are performing in these plays directed by Lennie Eichman with tech direction by Henry Eichman. Donations accepted.
