The talented artist, Daddy Yankee, started off by getting into the music world when he was 15 yrs. His career began when he was just, 13 years old. With such an early age, Daddy Yankee demonstrates his impressive talent, with writing his own songs, plus producing them.
His first record was, "De La Mano." One of the first to rap and do reggae, with DJ Playero. He has callaborated with artist such as, Nas ( recorded "The Profecy" together) and a track with mix tape legend and acclaimed DJ Tony for his "The Peace Maxon" album. Daddy Yankee, was also invited for a cameo apperance in Terror Squad's video "100% Percent", while his "Posicion" track was also included in "One Tough Cop" soundtrack.
Without a doubt, his record sales confirmed his success and popularity with Latin Music. All of his albums, "El Cartel de Yankee";"El Cartel de Yankee II";"El Cangri.com" and "Los Home-runes", have made it to it's platinum status.
In 2002,"El Cangri.com" was the biggest selling album in Puerto Rico, in his hometown. Later,"Los Home-Runes" album acheived record-breaking sales. One of his life - Long dreams. With his energetic stage performance and free style, brought 12,000 and more to dance all night at Puerto Rico's historic Roberto Clemente Coliseum.
Which turned into Yankee's most important and a historic moment in reggaeton music, which was the shows title "Ahora Le Toca Al Cangri." One of his desires is to share his vision with upcoming artists, in his development as " El Cangri's Inc." and "El Cartel Records" founder plus a leader/producer. In addition, Daddy Yankee has been touring Latin America and through out the U.S. gathering thousands of fans in each region. Recently, in Columbia, Daddy Yankee performed in a show over 60,000 fans.
Futhermore, his dedication and energy with his career allowed him to record over 130 tracks and as many to 70 featured reggaeton albums. Meanwhile, in July of 2004 he drops one of his most anticipated albums launch in Reggaeton music. As loyal to Salsa, since childhood, this album gave him the chance to callaborate with one of Puerto Rico's respective legendary Salsa's singers, Anoly Montanez in " Melao" as one of his most completed albums. His main goal with Barrio Fino is to introduce the genre and crossover within the competitive Anglo market and stay scene.
