The show opens on the townspeople, very excited because The Prince Is giving a ball. After the opening number, it cuts to Cinderella and her stepfamily returning home from the village. The stepmother is convinced that as soon as the prince see's her daughters, he will fall madly in love with them. They go to get their beauty sleep, and Cinderella laments on her life, but know that in her imagination, she can be whatever she wants. (In my own little corner) The next scene is in the ballroom, where the king and queen are disagreeing on the ball. The queen wants is big and expensive and thinks that the prince needs to get married, and the king is worried about the costs. The chef and steward enter and go into a song and dance about different foods at the ball (Your majesties) After, the prince enters and has a discussion with the king about how he doesn't really want a ball, but the king tells him to make his mother happy. The queen enters and the prince leaves and the king and queen sing a song about how much they love each other (Boys and Girls like you and Me) The scene then retuns to Cinderellas house, where her stepfamily is off for the ball. They leave and Cinderella reprises In my own little corner. At the end of the song, her godmother appears, performs some magical tricks such as producing flowers out of nowhere and tells Cinderella that she can do whatever she wants, but she can't just sit and wish for it. (Fol-de-rol into Impossible;It's possible) There is a magical transformation, and Cinderella's clothes are transformed into ballgowns, mice are turned into horses and a pumpkin is turned into a carriage. This is the end of act one.

Act two: It is time for the ball and all the guests are present. The stepsisters are fighting for the prince, but a girl magically appears at the top of the stairs. The prince is immediatly enchanted by her and leads her out to dance. He tells her how she enchanted him by singing 10 minutes ago to her. She chimes in, exclaiming that she felt the same way. The stepsisters, appalled by the princes affection for this unknown princes, show their frustration in The Stepsisters Lament. The prince and Cinderella are confused by their immediate love for one another and wonder Do I love you because your beautiful? but the clock strikes midnight and Cinderella rushes out of the ballroom, but leaving one shoe on the stairs. End of act 2 Act 3 ~ The stepfamily come home and tell Cinderella what a Lovely Night it was. She chimes in, agreeing with them and the stepmother realizes what happened. She gets mad and sends her daughters to their room and yells at Cinderella, telling her that she is common. After she storms out of the room, Cinderella sings a reprise of Lovely Night. The next scene is in the castle, where the royal family is lamenting on how Cinderella got away. The prince realizes that he has to find her and orders the herald and the servants on a search to find her by her shoe. He and the queen sing a reprise of Do I love you because your beautiful? The herald and the servants go on a search through town, with all the women in the kingdom chasing after the shoe, wanting to be the princes wife. They come to Cinderellas house, and the stepfamily try on the shoe, and try to hide Cinderella, but her godmother comes to the rescue and demands cinderella try on the shoe, but alas! Cinderella cannot be found anywhere. The prince comes across a young girl in the garden and they talk for a while. After realizing that this could be cinderella, he has her try on the shoe and he has finally found his perfect bride. They get married in the final scene (Finale) and they all live happily ever after!
