I discovered Les Miserables quite by accident.


I was channel surfing and I hit PBS...They were running the Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Albert Hall.


Although I was really barely aware of the musical, much less the novel, I was absolutely blown away by the music and the beautiful voices...most particularly those of Philip Quast and Colm Wilkinson...


I am warning you/you know nothing of...JAVERT!!!


As if that wasn't enough, the story was so romantic and tragic and heroic...I had to read the book. I was pulled in irretrievably.


The book was written in 1862 by Victor Hugo, and is a classic!!!


There is so much in there that putting all of it into a film or a musical would be next to impossible, yet to fully appreciate the musical or any of the film versions,I highly recommend that you read it!


On April 16, 1998, I was able to finally see the musical on stage.


The special sets and lighting effects helped make the show exciting, and the majority of the singers were incredible!!!! I hope you all get a chance to see it!!!
