Krissie’s preferences
•Usually, I don’t use a generic brand of cream corn; however, for this recipe, because it is baked, I use off brands.
•As for the onions, use
as much as your mouth craves…
•Cheese– in my opinion,
cheddar is entirely too strong. I use Colby
Jack shredded cheese if a recipes requires cheese.
•
•Spices, spices and more spices!! I try not to
add too many spices simply because the true
taste of the casserole is masked.
•As you will notice,
the cooking directions instruct the onion and squash to be sautéed together; however, I like onions cooked a bit more…therefore, I sauté the onions for at least 3 minutes, then I add the sliced squash.
